Despite their crackpot stories and preposterous fables, the National Enquirer is not stupid. Why? Well, simply because it is printed on paper and everybody knows that once something is printed on paper then it immediately becomes not stupid.
As much as I hate blogs if a blog was to set itself up as a newspaper, employ journalists, sub-editors, sales staff and belch itself into the public consciousness every morning via the magic of the printing press then even I, the most blog critical person in the entire world, would admit that that particular blog was no longer stupid.
You know the ex-editor of the National Enquirer is now in charge of the Irish Daily Mail. Normally I would say ‘Do you read the Daily Mail?’ and if you do leave my presence immediately but given the choice between reading the Daily Mail or looking at a blog for even half a second I’d prefer the bigoted, trashy crap that comes in newsprint.
I wish I was crying writing this but like Alison Moyet I am all cried out.

Its ok for a man to cry when he is blogging. (or in my case commenting) I call it meditative writing. i learned it in therapy.
